Columbia, KY - The D'Amore Duo will give a concert of music for guitar and oboe on Tuesday night at Lindsey Wilson College.

The D'Amore Duo will perform at 7pmCT on Tuesday, November 9, in the Lindsey Wilson W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall, 155 South Blue Raider Drive. The concert is part of the college's 2010-11 Cultural Affairs Series and is free and open to the public. A public reception will follow the concert.

The D'Amore Duo features William Feasley on guitar and Yeon-Jee Sohn on oboe.

They will perform selections from a half-dozen composers, including Fernando Fernandiere, Francois de Fossa, Maurice Ravel, and Antonio Jobim.

Feasley was the first guitarist to be awarded the Peabody (MD) Conservatory's coveted Artist Diploma. He has since been the recipient of numerous prizes and awards: a gold medal in the 1987 Panhellenic Guitar Competition in Athens, the 1990 and 1995 Baltimore Chamber Music Awards and a 1996 Governor's Citation for Outstanding Achievements in the Arts in Maryland. Selected to play for Andres Segovia at the master's historic last class at the University of Southern California in 1986, he was later featured on the CBS special Eulogy of Segovia.

Since making his debut in 1980 with the San Francisco Ballet, Feasley has maintained an active international touring schedule. He has performed in Macedonia, London, Washington, D.C., and Yale University.

Hailed by the Washington Asia Press for her "perfectly delivered" performance, Yeon Jee Sohn's dynamic career as an oboist and English horn player spans solo, chamber and orchestral performance.

She received her degrees in oboe performance from Seoul National University, the Peabody Conservatory and the University of Maryland.

Sohn has won many prestigious awards and competitions, she has performed with several leading orchestras and symphonies, and her playing has been featured on numerous recordings.

The D'Amore Duo will perform at 7pm CT on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in the Lindsey Wilson College W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall, 155 South Blue Raider Drive. The concert is free and open to the public. A public reception will follow the concert. For more information, contact LWC Cultural Affairs Chair Phil Hanna at hannap@lindsey.edu or (270) 384-8250.
