Thank You to Charles Marshburn. Request for enlightenment

Linda Waggener writes after reading Traffic lights instead of roundabout at Old Courthouse? letter from Charles Marshburn:
Great thoughts. I think we need to keep this discussion going and going until finally traffic on the square is under control. Why do we still have traffic jams now that there's a bypass? Why are there towns with exact opposite yield directions, like Burkesville, and which one works best to keep traffic flowing? - Linda
Enlightenment, please: In Columbia, traffic on the square has the right of way. In Burkesville, oncoming traffic has the right of way. If anybody knows why the yielding is practiced quite oppositely on the Burkesville and Columbia squares, please let us know. Let us know whether you think there should be a coin toss to make them the same in both towns.
