Obituary: Rev. Buford Blair, 93, Adair Co., KY

Rev. Blair was the founding Minister and pastor of the Russell Springs Nazarene Church on Steve Warriner DR, Russell Springs, KY. He also had pastored churches in Indiana and was a car salesman

Rev. Buford Blair age 94 years of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:30 amCT at Westlake Regional Hospital Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10amCT at Russell Springs Nazarene Church, 1468 W. Steve Warriner DR, Russell Springs, KY with Rev. James Haun and Rev. Hobart Wilson the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Lawson Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Monday, November 8, 2010, and after 8amCT, Tuesday, at the church.


Rev. Buford Blair, Adair Co., KY (1916-2010)

He was born on January 24, 1916. He was the son of the late Elmer and Lena Polson Blair. He died Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the age of 94 years, 9 months, and 13 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Aaron Blair and latermarried Harriet Wooten Blair of Columbia, KY who survives.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son: Sam Blair and wife Norma of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Adana Anderson and husband Brian of Los Angeles, CA

  • Four grandchildren: Brett Blair, Sommer Jean Brown, Chad Anderson and Brian Anderson

  • Four Great Grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Earline Gaskin of Los Angeles, CA, and Justine Gross ofTucson, AZ.
He was preceded in death by three children Lena Mae Blair, Sean Blair and Daniel Blair.

Rev. Blair was the founding Minister and Pastor of the Russell Springs Nazarene Church on Steve Warriner Dr., also had pastored churches in Indiana and was a car salesman.

Memorials suggested to Russell Spring Nazarene Church and can be made at the church or the funeral home.
