Obituary: Golen Burton, 75, Adair Co., KY

He was a member of a large, respected Northeast Adair Co. family. He was a farmer and attended the Caldwell Ridge Separate Baptist Church

Golen Burton age 75 years of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 4:58amCT at the Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY.

The funeral service will be Monday, November 8, 2010 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jim Antle the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3:30pmCT, Sunday, November 7, 2010.



Golen Burton, Adair Co., KY (1935-2010)

He was born Saturday, January 12, 1935. He was the son of the late Jesse and Emma Hadley Burton. He died Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 12 days.He is survived by the following:
  • Four sisters: Edith Streeval, Bernice Rooks and husband Avery, Catherine Janes and husband David and Linda Bell and husband Steve of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: J. D. Burton and wife Candince of Edinburgh, IN, and Marshall Burton and wife Frincine of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters, William Jesse Burton, Jr., Lowell Houston Burton, Glenna Compton, Jewel Dean Burton, Fredia Ruth Burton and Margie Lois Burton.

He attended the Caldwell Separate Baptist Church and was a Farmer

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
