Farmers: C.A.I.P. Applications now being taken

$100,000 in cost-share incentive money being administered by the Adair County Cattleman's Association. Applications being taken at Adair Co. Extension Office

By Teresa Bright

Applications will be accepted October 11- 22, 2010 at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairgound ST, Columbia, KY for the County Agricultural Investment Program, administered by the Adair County Cattlemen's Association.

The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board recently approved $100,000 in Agricultural Development Funds for the Adair County CAIP program.

This program is a 50% cost-share program with a maximum funding of $2,000 per farm operation. C.A.I.P. is designed to provide farmers with incentives to allow them to improve and diversify their current production practices.

C.A.I.P. combines what were previously known as county model cost-share programs into one, where each model program becomes an investment area.

For a complete list of Investment Areas and eligible cost-share items, call the Extension Office at (270) 384-2317 or stop by 409 Fairground Street in Columbia. Or visit online at the Governor's Office of Ag. Policy
