BJ Fudge issues warning to would be Doodlebuggers Proper weaponry is a must. He explains to modern kids the difference between a Doodlebuggin straw, and the other kind About: Varmintology Bulletin Doodlebug holes at Creelsboro KY By Billy Joe Fudge Retired Forester and Latter Day Varmintologist I am really concerned that some amateur Doodlebug enthusiasts striking out on safari might be needlessly endangered because of misinformation. I think you should make sure that this current Doodlebug generation of hunters and researchers goes out into the wild with the appropriate weaponry. The weapon of choice as described is, of course, a straw and therein lays the potential problem. The straw to which you were referring is natural wheat, oat straw or even a stem of grass. This was the weapon or research tool used by scientists and warriors of the bygone era you so eloquently described. However, I just want to be sure that folks don't go out to do this most important work armed with artificial straws they may have brought home from Sonic, Betty's or some other eatery.
