Chief Cross issues a warning about credit card scam By Chief Jason Cross News from the Columbia Police Department I was contacted by First and Farmers National Bank in reference to a scam and would like to let the public be aware of it. Apparently someone is making calls claiming to be a representative for First and Farmers and telling customers they need to activate their debit cards and are trying to get the card numbers and expiration dates. Although the report of this scam is from First and Farmers, it may be that customers of other banks are receiving similar calls. Banks will not call customers for this information as they already have it. If any receives these calls they should not give out any information and they should contact law enforcement. -Jason Cross This story was posted on 2010-10-01 13:46:51
