Obituary: Irene Stephens Youngblood, 82, Russell Co., KY

She was a member of a very large, respected Russell Co., KY family, the 13 children of the late Retha and Alvin Ray Stephens, eight of whom survive. She was a beloved minister of the Bernard Church of God on Stephens Ridge RD, Russell Springs, KY

Irene Stephens Youngblood, 82, E. Hwy 619, Russell Springs, KY, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at her home.

The funeral service will be Friday, September 24, 2010, at 2:30pmCT, at the Bernard Church of God, Russell Co., KY, with Rev. James Small the officiating clergy. Special music will be by Adam Hill and Lora Stephens. Burial will be in the Bernard Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Friday, September 24, 2010, at the church.



Pallbearers: Billy Stephens, Jimmy Stephens, Danny Wayne Stephens], Wayne Radford, Jeremy Radford, and Michael Clark.

Honorary pallbearers: Collis Stephens, Verlon Stephens, Elbert Stephens Hollis Stephens, Sharon Coffey, and Gladys Stephens.

Irene Stephens Youngblood, Russell Co., KY (1927-2010)

She was born Friday, December 2, 1927 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Retha Stephens and Alvin Ray Stephens. She died September 22, 2010, in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY, at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 20 days.

She was a minister of the Bernard Church of God in Russell Co., KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brook Youngblood, and by a sister, Anna Lois Stephens, and by three brothers, Getha, Bobby and Ralph Stephens.,

She is survived by the following;
  • One daughter: Rhonda (J.D.) King, Pensacola, FL

  • Two grandchildren: Michael King, Fairfield, OH; and Eric King, Pensacola, FL

  • Four great grandchildren: Natoshia, Andrew, Zoe' and Alexander

  • Seven Brothers, Curtis Stephens and Verlon Stephens, both of Anderson, IN; Elbert Stephens, Collis Stephens, Hollis Stephens, and Billy Stephens, all of Russell Springs, KY; and Jimmy Stephens, Jamestown, KY.

  • Two sisters: Gladys Simpson, and Sharon Coffey, both of Russell Springs, KY
Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
