He was a member of a respected Russell County family with deep roots in Adair and Russell Counties, KY

Bennie Powell, 90, Jamestown, KY, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

The funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E. Steve Wariner DR, Russell Springs, KY. Burial will be in the Helm-Loy Cemetery, Jamestown, KY. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at the funeral home.,


Bennie Powell, Russell Co., KY (1920-2010)

He was born April 9, 1920, and died September 6, 2010, in Russell Springs, Russell Co., KY, at the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 28 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Ballenger Powell.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Laverne Hadley, Columbia, KY and Sherry Brumley, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sons: Donnie Powell, Jamestown, KY; and Calvin Powell, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two Sisters: Josephine Vaughn, Columbia, KY; and Ollie Taylor, of Missouri

  • Four grandchildren
Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E. Steve Wariner DR, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
