Violinist Aaron Boaz in concert in Somerset, KY Click on headline for story plus photo By Dave Cazalet, Jr. Violinist Aaron Boaz will perform a free concert at Earl Brooke's Music, 1424 S. HWY 27, Suite A, Somerset, KY, on Friday, September 10, 2010, at 7pmET/6pmCT, in a performance sponsored by Petrof Pianos and Watershed Arts Alliance. Boaz will be accompanied by his wife and Somerset native, Krista Wallace Boaz. Aaron Boaz began violin study at age four. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Louisville and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Northwestern University. Mr. Boaz has presented numerous solo recitals and collaborated with other artists throughout the United States. He made his European debut as a guest of the Belgian Grand Consulate, presented a recital in England's Winchester Cathedral and most recently performed in Adare, Ireland. Primarily a classical violinist, Aaron has also appeared with the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band and was recognized by the Grand Ole Opry at age nine. He can be heard on StarDog Records and is a recipient of the Ora May Welsh Young Violinist Award. Boaz currently serves as Sponsor and Co-ordinator of the Boaz Performance Academy in Floyds Knobs, Indiana; the Music Performance Academy in Louisville, Kentucky; author of the Fiddle Steps Bluegrass Violin Method; Director of thePracticePro.com; Music Director to the Orchestra of the Jewish Community Center; and Adjunct Professor of Violin to Bellarmine University. Krista Wallace-Boaz is a native of Somerset, Kentucky, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Louisville, a Masters of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University and a Doctor of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University. Dr. Wallace-Boaz also holds three certificates from the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has been heard on the national radio broadcast of the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series. She recently had the privilege of performing a series of concerts as a guest of the Belgian Grand Consulate, and has appeared in concerts across the United States as well as England and the Netherlands. Krista Wallace-Boaz currently serves as Assistant Professor of Piano for the University of Louisville School of Music; New Music Reviewer to Clavier Magazine; and Pianist to the Trio bel Canto. Watershed Arts Alliance is a local arts organization which supports local performers and artists. The Watershed Gallery is located at 501 Ogden St. Watershed Arts Alliance is a not-for-profit local organization whose purpose is to promote the arts and local artists.
