Obituary: Harold Wayne Moran, 67, Metcalfe Co., KY

He was member of a highly regarded Metcalfe County family. He was a retired educator whose career in Metcalfe County Schools extended over 36 years starting as a teacher and later included tenures as a coach and principal. He ws a member of Edmonton Worship Center.

Harold Wayne Moran, 67, Edmonton, KY, died Monday, August 9, 2010 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.
Funeral services will be held 11amCT, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4pm8pmCT, Wednesday, August 11, 2010, and after 9amCT, Thursday at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Robert and Mattie Goode Moran. Mr. Moran was retired from the Metcalfe County School System after 36 years. He taught at Summer Shade Elementary and Edmonton Middle School. He was also a coach, Physical Ed teacher and principal before retiring.He was a member of the Edmonton Worship Center.He is survived by his wife Jo Anne Moran, and the following:
  • One daughter: Kellie (Brian) Hammer of Tompkinsville, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Ty and Drew Hammer

  • His father in law: Edgar Martin

  • And several special cousins
