Obituary: Margie Burton, 73, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected family, with deep roots in Adair, Casey, and Taylor Counties. She leaves 29 direct living descendants. Mrs. Burton was a homemaker

Margie Burton, 73, Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 11amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Junior Holmes officiating. Burial will be in the Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 2pmCT, Monday, June 14, 2010, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.



Margie Burton, formerly of Adair Co., KY (1936-2010)

Margie Burton was born on Wednesday, September 16, 1936, in Casey County, KY. Her parents were the late Alton Parker and Clyde Jenton May Lewis. She died Saturday, June 12, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 27 days.

She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Burton and Barry Burton and one daughter, Carol Neat, all from Columbia, KY; two brothers, Gene Lewis and Charles Lewis; two sisters, Maxine Bailey and Gloria Curry.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Sandra Neat and her husband Jimmy, Columbia, KY; and Bernadine Burton and Jenny Stotts, both of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three sisters: Peggy Burton, Columbia, KY; Jenny Bell Lewellen, Richmond, IN; and Dorothy Swafford, Georgetown, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
