Obituary: William R. (Billy) Denton, 63, Adair Co., KY

He was a member of the Free Union Baptist Church and was a former equipment and construction worker whose career in that field spanned 25 years.

William R. "Billy" Denton, 63, of 4998 Allen Schoolhouse Road Columbia, KY (the Sano Community) passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 8:03pmCT, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green after a long illness.

Funeral service, Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 1pmCT at the Free Union Separate Baptist Church, 4642 Sano RD, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jim Goff and Bro. Casey Davis the officiating clergy. Interment in the Free Union Cemetery/ The family request visitation after 4pmCT on Friday, February 10, 2010, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.



William R. "Billy" Denton, Adair Co., KY (1946-2010)

He was born Tuesday, July 30, 1946. He was the son of the late James Russell and Josephine Burton Denton of Adair County, KY. He died Wednesday, June 9, 2010, in Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY, at the the age of 63 years, 10 months, and 10 days.

Survived by his wife, Fayrene Bray Denton of Columbia, KY and the following:
  • Two sons: Troy Brian Denton and wife: Carla Jean of Russell Springs, KY; Tony Denton and fiance' Carrie McGowan of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Sandra Bryant and husband Willard of Columbia, KY; Minnie Smith and husband Barry of Columbia, KY; Marty Ellis and husband Jimmy of Columbia, KY

  • Four brothers: Leonard "Jeff" Denton of Columbia, KY; Jimmy Denton and wife: Juanita of Columbia, KY; J. W. Denton and wife Mitchelene of Columbia KY; Freddie Denton and wife Sharlet of Columbia, KY

  • Pa's special buddy and grandson: Jared Wade Denton of Columbia, KY

  • A host of nieces, nephews and friends
Billy faithfully attended the Free Union Separate Baptist Church and was a former backhoe operator and construction worker for 25 years with various companies.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
