Obituary: John R. Hayes, 68, Liberty, KY

He was a member of a highly regarded Casey Co. family. He was the owner of Big John's Pay Lake, a farmer, and was a member of the Creston Missionary Baptist Church

John R. Hayes, of Liberty, KY died Friday June 4, 2010, at his residence. He was 68.

Funeral service is 2pmET/1pmCT, Monday, June 7, 2010, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, by Bro. Dwight Coffman and Bro. David Green. Burial is in Cold Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, June 6, 2010, 6-9pmET/5-8pmCT, at the funeral home.



John R. Hayes, Casey Co., KY (1942-2010)

He was the son of the late Russell and Elsie Blevins Hayes. He was born Wednesday, April 22, 1942 in Casey Co., KY, and died Friday, June 4, 2010, at the age of 68 years, 1 month, and 13 days.

He was a farmer, owner of Big John's Pay Lake and member of the Creston Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Long Hayes, of Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Steven and (Sheila) Hayes, of Campbellsville, KY; and Thomas and (Cindy) Hayes, of Liberty, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Michael and Bethany Hayes and brother, Buel Hayes of Campbellsville, KY
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Dwight and Raymond Hayes and two sisters, Francis Lawhorn and Joyce Peach.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, in charge of funeral arrangements.
