Obituary: Virginia Katherine Campbell, 76, Green Co., KY

She was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom, where she was a machine operator

Virginia Katherine Campbell of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clifton "Kip" Lile and Opal Pierce Lile, was born on Saturday, January 13, 1934 in Green Co., KY and departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., Kentucky. She was 76 years, four months and 12 days of age.

The funeral services for Virginia Katherine Campbell were conducted at 10amCT, Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY. Burial was in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Bro. Larry Wisdom officiated.



Pallbearers: Tracy Edwards, Joey Dowell, Luke Campbell, Cody Ervin, Robbie Lile, and Richard Chandler.

Virginia Katherine Campbell of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Clifton "Kip" Lile and Opal Pierce Lile, was born on Saturday, January 13, 1934 in Green Co., KY and departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., Kentucky. She was 76 years, four months and 12 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. She was also retired from Fruit of the Loom where she worked as a machine operator.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Clayton and Janet Edwards and Leroy and Sharon Campbell all of Greensburg, KY

  • Three daughters and sons-in-law: Rhonda and Ron Dowell, Lisa and Tim Darnell and Jackie and Brian McKinney all of Greensburg, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Tracy Edwards, Kenneth Childers and Cindy Edwards all of Indiana; Ashley Edwards, Luke Campbell, Laura Campbell and Cody Ervin all of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters: Devona Wiggins of Indiana and Joann Dowell of Edmonton, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren

  • One great-great grandchild

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Robert Lile and Sheilda Bailey.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
