Obituary: Lenwood Graves, 88, Taylor Co., KY

He served his country honorably in World War II and will be accorded full military honors. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and a retired farmer

Lenwood Graves, of the Bengal Community of Campbellsville, KY, died at 2amET, Saturday, May, 22, 2010 in Campbellsville, KY.

Graveside services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Monday, May 24, 2010 at theBrookside Cemetery, West Main ST, Campbellsville, KY, by . Fred Miller with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


Lenwood Graves, Taylor Co., KY (1921 - 2010)

Lenwood Graves of the Bengal Community of Campbellsville, son of the late Len Ingram Graves and Mary Frances Gaddie Graves was born Wednesday, December 30, 1921 in Taylor Co., KY. He died at 2amET, Saturday, May, 22, 2010 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 1 day.

He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army.He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by the following:
  • One sister-in-law: Pauline Graves of Campbellsville, KY

  • His niece and caretaker: Anne Sanders and husband, Bill of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two other nieces: Marsha Wood and husband, Allen, of NC, and Kristi Dillingham and husband, Kenny of New Mexico

  • A great nephew, Jordan Sanders

  • And a great niece, Jessica Honea and husband, Jessie of Campbellsville, KY

  • And many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Henry T. Graves, November 12, 1992, Frank I. Graves, May 20, 1994 and James A. "Jack" Graves, February 19, 1997.

Expressions of sympathy should be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at the funeral home.

Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
