Obituary: Glenda C. Turner, 61, Green Co., KY

She was a member of a respected Green Co., KY family. She was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a nurse at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY, for 16 years.

Mrs. Glenda Carolyn White Turner of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, Adair Co., KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Glenda C. Turner will be conducted at 10amCT, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Ladies Chapel Cemetery. Bro. William Davenport and Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 3 to 9pmCT, Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Nathaniel Turner, Robert Allen Holley, Andrew Robbins, Shawn Coffey, Jason Coffey, and Thomas Rice.

Glenda Carolyn White Turner, Green Co., KY (1948-2010)

Mrs. Glenda Carolyn White Turner of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late C.E. "Drew" White and Mary Vinnie Coffey Patterson, was born on Saturday, November 13, 1948 in Green Co., KY, and departed this life on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, Adair Co., KY. She was 61 years, 6 months and 3 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was also a nurse at Westlake Regional Hospital having worked 16 years.

She united in marriage to Bobby Joe Turner on July 16, 1969 who survives.Other survivors include the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Tonja and DeWayne Davis of Glasgow, KY; and Datha and Russ Vaughn of Greensburg, KY

  • A son: Eddie Turner of the Grab Community of Green Co. KY

  • Five grandchildren: Jacob Davis, Andrea Davis and Sara Davis all of Glasgow, KY; and Zoe Vaughn and K.K. Vaughn both of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sisters and brothers-in-law: Vicky and Dana Robbins of Knob Lick, KY; and Lisa and Doug Preston of Hodgenville, KY

  • A brother: Steve Patterson of Elizabethtown, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Turner was also preceded in death by a sister: Becky Jo Patterson.

Memorials are suggested to the Ladies Chapel UMC Building Fund or the Susan B. Coleman Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
