Obituary: Alta Graham Roberts, 88, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected family. She leaves 30 direct living descendants.

Alta Graham Roberts, age 88, of Campbellsville, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 4amCT at Taylor Regional Hospital, Campbellsville, KY, after a short illness.

Funeral services for Alta Graham Roberts will be conducted at 2pmET/1pmCT, Monday, May 17, 2010, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home, 503 East Main ST, Campbellsville, KY, and visitation will be after 1 pmET Monday at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home; services at 2pmET, Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Hagerstown, IN with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation at Salem Primitive Baptist Church at 1pmET, Tuesday. Clergy officiating: Bros. Dwight Dyer, Manessah Gillam, Jerry Ballinger, assisting.



Alta Graham Roberts, Taylor Co., KY (1921-2010)

She was the daughter of the late Burr and Martha Ethel Graham of Clinton Co., KY, She was born Saturday, May 20, 1921, in Clinton Co., KY, and died Saturday, May 15, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 24 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan Paul Roberts, December 25, 1990; one son Floyd E. Roberts, May, 1993; and one brother Roy Graham.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Alice M. and (Ira) Powers of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four sons and daughters in law: Bobby and Joy Roberts, of Kokomo, IN; Jonathan A. and Deborah Roberts, of Scottsburg, IN; Daniel and Becky Roberts,of New Castle, IN; and Samuel and Roberta Roberts , of Kokoma, IN

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Twelve great grandchildren

  • One sister: Sally Thurman of Albany, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Lyon-Dewitt Funeral Home, 503 E. Main ST, Campbellsville, KY, is in charge of arrangments.
