Obituary: Jimmy (Hulio) Burgess, 59, Russell Co., KY

Mr. Burgess was a heavy equipment operator and formerly operated the crossroads store at Hale's Highway and KY 55 in Russell County, KY

Jimmy "Hulio" Burgess, 59, Miller RD, Jamestown, KY, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center, Somerset, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 10amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N. Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro Jesse Jewell, Bro. Bill Welker,and Bro. Larry Johnson the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Kenton Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the funeral home.



Jimmy "Hulio" Burgess, Russell Co., KY (1950-2010)

Jimmy "Hulio" Burgess was born Tuesday, November 28, 1950 in Wayne Co., KY. He was the son of William Ralph Burgess and the late Della Mabel Morgan Burgess. He died Sunday, May 9, 2010, in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, at the age of 59 years, 5 months, and 11 days.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Miller Burgess, Jamestown, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Jaime Ann (Kevin) Hawks, Bowling Green, KY

  • One grandchild: Ryan Christopher Hawks

  • One step son: Gary Lawless, Jamestown, KY

  • Father: William Ralph Burgess, Wilmore, KY

  • Three step grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Joseph Ralph (Louanne) Burgess, Wilmore, KY; and Gary Lynn (Sheryl) Burgesss, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sisters: Sandra Joan (Mike) Loehle, Tullahoma, TN; and Pamela Kay (David) Proctor, Elizabethtown, KY

  • One step sister: Clletta McKinney, Russell Springs, KY
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Dale Burgess.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
