Obituary: Pauline Staten, Cumberland Co., KY She was a member of a large, respected Cumberland Co. family. She leaves 81 direct living descendants. She was a domestic worker and nanny for several families in Cumberland Co. over the years. She was a member of Grundy Chapel CME Church Pauline Compton Staten, 88 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Clinton County Hospital in Albany, KY. The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 1pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home 304 North Main ST, Burkesville, KY, with Rev. Jose Anders officiating. Burial will follow in the Grundy Chapel CME, Burdkesville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8pmCT on Tuesday at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville, KY Pauline Staten, Green Co., KY native (1921-2010) She was the daughter of the late Robert and Vestal Hazelwood Compton. She was born on Sunday, October 02, 1921 in Green County, KY and died Friday, April 23, 2010, in Albany, Clinton Co., KY at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 21 days. She was a former domestic worker and nanny for several families in Cumberland Co. and was a member of Grundy Chapel CME Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Sam Staten; two children, Dwight Staten and Barbara Ann Staten; four brothers, James John Compton, Henry Compton, Marshall Compton and one infant brother; three sisters, Liddy Gaddie, Ethel Alexander, and Minnie Coward, and one great grandson.
