Obituary: Mr. Junior Lumpkin, 55, Campbellsville, KY

Mr. Lumpkin was born a member of a popular, respected Columbia, KY family. At the time of his death he was a respected businessman in Campbellsville, KY, the owner and operator of Lumpkin's Auto Sales there. The funeral and burial will be in his native Adair Co., KY

Mr.Junior Lumpkin, 55, Campbellsville, KY, died Friday, April 23, 2010, at 4:40pmCT, at Taylor Regional Hospital Emergency Room in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be at 11amCT, Monday, April 26, 2010, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the funeral home.



Mr. Junior Lumpkin, Campbellsville, KY (1954)

Mr. Junior Lumpkin was the son of the late Clifton D. Lumpkin and Mabel Burton Simpson of Adair Co., KY. He was born in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, Wednesday, May 4, 1954 and died Friday, April 23, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 55 years, 11 months, and 18 days.He was a respected Campbellsville businessman, who owned and operated Lumpkin's Auto Sales for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Richards Lumpkin, and the following:
  • Two sons: Michael and Chas Lumpkin, both of Indianapolis, IN

  • One brother: L.C. Simpson of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three sisters: Faye Wray, Campbellsville, KY; Janie Cole, Michigan; and Connie Blankenship, Russell Co., KY

  • Five grandchildren: Madison, Cameron, Haley, Jordan, and Gavin Lumpkin

  • Special nephew: James Dillon, Bowling Green, KY
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, Marshall and Carl Sherman Simpson, and Clemadine Parvin.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
