Great grandson of Simon Finn

On April 5th 2010, the new Simon Finn Bridge was dedicated. The bridge spans Russell Creek at Kemp Ky on the Adair-Green County line. Mr. Finn was a localmerchant, and a highly respected member of the Kemp Community.

He was prominent in theeffort to build the original bridge at this site in 1928. The ceremony was led by Judge Executive Mary Ann Baron of Green County.

The official ribbon cutting was done by Eunie Burris, one of the eldest living members of the community.



Representing the Finn Family were Benny and Seth Finn. Other notable Adair Contains in attendance were Ray Dean Smith and Lewis Garrison of GarrisonConstruction, the builder of the bridge.

"The new bridge spanning Columbia and Green county was dedicated on April 5, 2010, to the memory of my great grandfather, Simon Finn. He was a native of Adair Co., KY," writes Seth Finn, Construction Representative, Fort Knox Area office of the Louisville District of the US Army Corps of Engineers. "This should be recognized in Adair county as well as Green County. " Eunie Burris, one of the community's eldest citizens, in center in the jacket and blue overalls cut the ribbon. Left of Mr. Burris is Green County Judge Executive Mary Ann Baron. On his right is Lewis Garrison, President of Garrison Construction Co., Adair County, the builders of the bridge. The bridge spans Russell Creek, at the lowest elevation in Adair County, KY. The background is Kemp, Adair Co. District 5, KY. The middle of the creek marks the boundary of Adair and Green Counties.
