A-Team Boosters seek support for International Competition Will ask Adair Co. Board of Education to help fund trip; donation boxes are in businesses around town, and items will be raffled at the Farm, Home, and Garden Expo PRINTER FRIENDLY VERSION, AGENDA, ADAIR CO. BOARD OF EDUCATION By Jackie Montgomery News from Adair Co. A-Team Boosters Members of the Academic/Future Problem Solving (FPS) teams will address the Board of Education at the Board meeting Thursday evening. These seven students have achieved the distinction of winning first place in state comptetition, which qualifies them for International Competition in June. The seven includes the following: Five champions from ACMS, one from ACES and one from ACHS. This is a chance for Adair County to be well represented among students from Japan, Australia, Canada, Singapore and other countries! The students and their families and friends are working hard on fundraising activities in order to be able to afford the trip to La Crosse, Wisconsin. We have placed donation boxes at local businesses, spoken with numerous individuals and groups, will host a raffle at the Farm, Home and Garden Expo, and have received donations to the cause from various people in our wonderful community. The A-Team and coaches will be requesting that the Board of Education consider helping the Academic Team by paying the registration fees for the competition. Funds raised can then be applied to the direct costs of the trip for the competitors. This story was posted on 2010-04-15 02:12:13
