LWC Mens Tennis wraps up 7th straight MSC title Regular season title comes on 8-1 win over Cumberlands By Chris Wells News from Lindsey Wilson Sports Information WILLIAMSBURG, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team wrapped up the Mid-South Conference regular season title on Monday, April 12, 2010, with an 8-1 win over University of the Cumberlands. The Blue Raiders (11-3, 3-0 in the MSC) captured their seventh straight regular season title with the win. Lindsey Wilson has won 33 straight MSC regular season matches and 42 conference matches overall in a row. Lindsey Wilson has not lost to a conference foe since the 2003 season. On Monday, the Blue Raiders jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead following doubles play. The top doubles team of juniors Andrews Moraes and Andre Santos defeated Cumberalnds' Oscar Pantoja and Jerrid Neeley 8-4 in the closest match of the doubles. Seniors Freddy Luciani and Justin Martin won 8-1 in No. 2 doubles and freshmen Marlon DalPont and Antoine Pourin won 8-2 No. 3 doubles. The Blue Raiders continued their domination in singles play winning all but one match. The lone Cumberlands (3-14, 0-3) point came when Luciani retired in No. 1 singles. The remainder of the singles matches were decided in straight sets. Lindsey Wilson Men's Tennis returns to action at 1pmCT on Thursday, April 15, as the Blue Raiders travel to Mars Hill (N.C.)
