Obituary: Chalmus (Duck) Reece, 90, Edmonton, KY

He was a member of a highly regarded Metcalfe Co., KY, family. He was retired from the Kentucky Highway Department, and was a World War II veteran

Chalmus "Duck" Reece, age 90, of Edmonton, KY, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Moore Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30pm until 8pmCT, Friday, April 2, 2010, and after 9amCT, Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late Enos and Bertha Jessie Reece. He was retired from the state highway department and a World War II Veteran.He is survived by the following:
  • One son: Jimmy and wife Judy Reece of Edmonton, KY

  • Three grandsons: James (Lori) Reece, Stan (Cindy) Reece and Stephen (Kellie) Reece all of Edmonton, KY

  • Seven great grandchildren: Whitney, Kaylee, Layne, Lilly, Hannah, Allie and Rylee

  • A god grandson: Jason Brown of Edmonton, KY
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maymie Gibson Reece; a great grandson, Dustin Reece; seven brothers, and four sisters.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
