Obituary: Beatrice Mirl Brock, 86, Adair Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected Adair Co. family. She was the widow of Lawrence Brock and she was a member of Calvary Temple Church.

Beatrice Mirl Brock, 86, Columbia, KY, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 5:55am, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be Monday, April 5, 2010, at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Janes, Rev. Homer Stephens, and Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Sunday, April 4, 2010.



Beatrice Mirl Brock, Adair Co., KY (1924-2010)

She was a daughter of the late Dewey and Zada Moss Shirley. She was born Sunday, March 23, 1924, and died Thursday, April 1, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 86 years and 9 days.

She was the widow of Lawrence Brock, who preceded her in death March 2, 2007.She was a member of the Calvary Temple Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four children: Kenneth and his wife Janet Brock, Imia and husband James Corbin, Debbie and husband Mike Smith, and Geneva and husband Garry Sneed, all of Columbia, KY

  • One brother and two sisters: Charles Shirley, Edith Phillips, and Voyce Burris, all of Columbia, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Tammy and husband Bobby Burton, Dewayne and wife Melissa Coffey, Scott Coffey, Kenny and wife Tiffany Smith, Shawn and wife Diana Smith, Amy and husband Josh Brockman, and Jordan Sneed.

  • Nine great grandchildren: Candace Turner, Timmy Coffey, Ashley Sullivanm, Nikki Coffey, James Smith, Jacob Smith, Leighton Brockman, Gavin Brockman, Rylie Bea Grace Smith

  • Several nieces, nephews, and friends
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Glen, Wayne, Ernest, Thurman, and Virginia Shirley.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
