Obituary: Barbara Allen Rock, 74, Taylor Co., KY

She was the matriarch of a large family with deep roots in Taylor and Metcalfe and South Central Kentucky Counties. She leaves 54 direct living descendants.

Barbara Allen Rock, age 74, of South Columbia AV, Campbellsville, KY, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pmET/12 noon CT, Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home, 503 E. Main ST, Campbellsville, KY with burial in the Houk Cemetery in Metcalfe Co., KY. Bro. Ernie Vincent will officiate. Visitation will be from 9amET/8amCT at the funeral home.



Barbara Allen Rock, 74, Taylor Co., KY (1935-2010)

She was the daughter of the late William Edmond and Hattie Sylvia Glover. She was born Tuesday, September 3, 1935 and died Sunday, March 28, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 74 years, 6 months, and 25 days.

She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Edmons Mouser and one daughter, Connie Allen Mouser.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert Earl Rock of Campbellsville, KY, and the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Greg and Sun Rock of Augusta, GA

  • Five daughters and spouses: Juanita and Leon Parnell, Kathy Renay Sanders, Melinda Marie Mouser and fiancee Bill Brown all of Center, Metcalfe Co., KY; Lillian and Homer Ballew of Campbellsville, KY; and Beverly Cecilia Mouser and special friend, Squeezer Pierce of Greensburg, KY

  • One son-in-law: Butch Stone of Center, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Thirty-four great grandchildren

  • One brother, William Glover, of Campbellsville, KY

  • Tfhree sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Bradley Hoosier , Frances and David McDonald all of Campbellsville, KY, and Helen Denise Ford of Center, KY
Lyon-Dewitt Funeral Home, 503 E. Main ST, Campbellsville, KY, is in charge of arrangments.
