LWC Baseball Beats No. 8 CU; 8-2, loses opener 3-2 By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson Sports Information CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - After losing a heartbreaker to eighth ranked Campbellsville (KY) University 3-2 on Saturday, the Lindsey Wilson College baseball team used a pair of runs in the fourth inning to help register an 8-2 win in game two at Tiger Field. The teams were tied after the first inning 2-2, but the Blue Raiders held the Tigers (16-12, 9-2 MSC) scoreless the rest of the game and added runs in the fourth and seventh innings to pick up the win after coming up short in a comeback bid in the opener. Campbellsville jumped in front 1-0 in the first inning of game one before Lindsey Wilson (14-13, 3-9 MSC) tied the game with a run in the fourth. The Tigers responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning, leaving it up to the Blue Raiders to claw back from the 3-1 deficit. It was a valiant effort in the top of the fifth inning as Lindsey Wilson registered another run, but they were shut out the rest of the way. Luis Parra took the loss in the opener, pitching all six innings with four strikeouts and three earned runs on 10 hits. Lance Rose earned the win for the Blue Raiders, throwing six innings as well with just two earned runs on two hits.
