LWC Softball wins seventh straight game with sweep of Pikeville By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson College Sports Information COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College softball team allowed just one run on seven hits in two games combined to sweep Pikeville (KY) College on Saturday at Lindsey Wilson Park. The Blue Raiders took the opener 5-0, while allowing just two hits, and claimed a 4-1 win in game two. Anyibell Ramirez went 5-for-7 at the plate with two runs and an RBI, while left fielder Alexis Rodgers finished 4-for-8 with a run and RBI. Shortstop Jordan Gilland tallied a run as well on a 3-for-5 performance at the plate. Ramirez was dominant in the circle in game one, allowing just two hits and no earned runs with 15 strikeouts. Paschall also took over the game in the 4-1 win, pitching all seven innings with 11 strikeouts on just five hits with one earned run. With the pitching in game one, the two Blue Raider runs in the top of the first inning where all the needed to seal the win. Lindsey Wilson added another run in the second and two in the sixth to finish off the Lady Bears. It took longer to get the offense started in game two as Lindsey Wilson didn't score until putting up three runs in the third inning. Pikeville responded with a run in the fifth that the Blue Raiders matched in the bottom half of the inning.
