Mrs. Florence Opal Coomer, age 90, of Greensburg, KY, passed away on Friday, March 26, at her home in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Florence Opal Coomer will be conducted at 1pmCT, Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 203 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial in the Liberty Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests visitation from 4-8pmCT, Saturday, March 27, 2010, and after 7amCT, Sunday, March 28, 2010.



Pallbearers are Trae Pickett, David Rea Larimore, John Larimore, Donnie Hancock, Donald Dean Shuffett, Barney Shuffett, and Joe Shuffett.

Florence Opal Coomer, Green Co., KY (1919-2010)

Frances Opal Coomer the daughter of the late William Ollie Shuffett and Vesta Chaney Shuffett was born Friday, July 18, 1919 and died Friday, March 26, 2010, in Greensburg, Green Co., KY, at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 8 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Joseph "Joe" Lynn Coomer in 1945 who preceded her in death on October 23, 1981.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Peggy Coffey of Greensburg, KY

  • Two sons and 1 daughter-in-law: Keith and Jayne Coomer of Columbia and Mitchell Ollie Coomer of Greensburg, KY

  • One brother: Roy Lawrence Shuffett of Greensburg, KY

  • One sister: Ree Hannah Larimore of Lexington, KY

  • One granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Tammy & Trae Pickett of Greensburg, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Ashley Wilson & Matt Sroka of Columbia, KY

  • and Layke Pickett of Greensburg, KY
  • Two great great grandchildren: Alexis and Logan Sroka of Columbia, KY
Mrs. Coomer was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Delmer Coomer.
