Obituary: Shirley Grider Braman, 91, Russell Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected Russell Co., KY, family. She leaves 37 direct living descendants. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist Church

Shirley Grider Braman, 91, Hwy 910, Russell Springs, KY, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Jamestown, KY.

The funeral service for Shirley Grider Braman will be Monday, March 29, 2010, at 10amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY with Rev. Jeff Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Russell Co., KY. Visitation will be at Bernard Funeral Home, after 6pmCT, Sunday, March 28, 2010.


Shirley Grider Braman, Russell Co., KY (1918-2010)

Shirley Grider Braman was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Roy Grider and Silas Green Grider. She was born in Russell County, KY on Wednesday, July 3, 1918, and died in Jamestown, Russell Co., KY, on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Berton Braman.

She was a homemaker and member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Five children: Robert (Edna) Braman, Alabama; Andrew B. (Karen) Braman, Jr., Wisconsin; Mary Viola (Davis) Braman, Florida; William Vance (Evelyn) Braman, Georgia; and Gail (Leston) Gosser, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two sisters: Martha Lawrence and Doris Wariner, both of Jamestown, KY

  • Nineteen grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren
She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband, by a daughter, Leslie Dell Dysard; a son in law, Michael Dysard; a granson, Paul Dysard; two brothers, Veston Grider and Gwendolyn Grider; and a sister, Alene Shepard

Bernard Funeral Home, Russell Springs, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
