Obituary: Margaret Keltner Burton, 89, Adair Co., KY

She was a native of Green Co., KY and was a member of a prominent, highly respected Adair Co. family. She was a member of Milltown United Methodist Church whose faithful membership spanned 62 years. She was retired from Fruit of the Loom after 37 years service

Margaret Keltner Burton, 89, Columbia, KY, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 3amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service for Margaret Keltner Burton will be Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 12 noon CT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, with Rev. Jadell Janes and Charles Rickman officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Friday, March 19, 2010, at the funeral home.



Margaret Keltner Burton, Adair Co., KY

A native of Green County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jim Lewis and Lonie Jones Wright. She was born Tuesday, April 13, 1920, and died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 4 days.

She was a member of Milltown United Methodist Church for 62 years and was retired from Fruit of the Loom after 37 years of service.

She was married to Coy Keltner, who preceded her in death July 7, 1970, and later married Earl Burton, who preceded her in death January 31, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Carolyn Holtzclaw on February 23, 1998, and Barbara Jean Downey on November 13, 2001.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two grandsons: Bobby and his wife Kathy Downey, Columbia, KY; And Mike and his wife Michelle Radford, Nashville, TN

  • Two great grandchildren: Colton Downey, Columbia, KY; and Nicole Lynn Radford, Nashville, TN

  • Her sons in law: Jimmie Downey, Columbia, KY; and John and his wife Earline Holtzclaw, Campbellsville, KY

  • A special great-nephew: Jason Curry, Columbia, KY
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation of Milltown United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
