CU has 20th consecutive semester of record enrollment
By Ashley Zsedenyi
Story from Campbellsville University
CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Campbellsville University has reached a milestone 20th consecutive semester of record enrollment for spring 2010 with a total enrollment of 2,821 students, according to Dr. Michael V. Carter, president.
The total enrollment, which is up from 2,669 in spring 2009, includes 409 graduate and 2,412 undergraduate students.
Campbellsville University-Louisville saw a big jump in its spring 2009 enrollment, from 166 to 241 enrolled. CU's extension sites also saw an increase in students.
The nursing program at CU, which recently gained full approval from the Kentucky Board of Nursing, increased its enrollment from 42 in spring 2009 to 54 in spring 2010.
Dave Walters, vice president for admissions and student services, said, "It's apparent that many people now recognize Campbellsville University as a premier higher education institution."
"With our improved facilities, growth in academic excellence, high quality student life experiences and successful athletic programs, enrollment records will continue to be broken," Walters said.
"Our extension sites, online programs, intensive efforts to reach students in every state and from literally around the world have contributed to this milestone in enrollment.
"Students today want what Campbellsville University offers - a higher education experience where they matter," he said.
Walters credits dedication and commitment of the faculty, staff and coaches at Campbellsville University as the basis of this record enrollment.
"Our employees care deeply about the lives we have the opportunity to impact. Our students tell that story time and again and that results in continued growth," he said.
Dr. Frank Cheatham, vice president for academic affairs at CU, said, "Having a 20th semester of record enrollment says that students continue to enjoy their time at CU."
"It also says that the faculty are doing an outstanding job of retaining students," Cheatham said. For more information about Campbellsville University visit www.campbellsville.edu, call 800-264-6014 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
