Gentrys Mill must have been important place Next earlier Gentry's Mill comment: Gentrys Mill is a few communities NE of Youngs Mill By Richard Raines I don't know the exact location of Gentry's Mill, but apparently it was a place of some sort of importance at one time, seeing that the road that turns north off of KY 80 at the Russell/Adair County line and goes across "Chicken Ridge," crosses Russell Creek, and comes out on Sano Road about a mile west of Free Union church is called Gentry Mill Road. There is an old road on county road maps that goes in down by Joe and Ruby Conover's place that has a mention of Gentry's Mill in the name. Also the road right at the edge of Russell Springs between Old Columbia Road (KY 1870 and KY 80 is called Gentry's Mill Road.So it must have been an important place to get to at one time. -Richard Raines This story was posted on 2010-03-10 12:56:09
