A Kosair mother endorses warm, wonderful idea of Baby So Soft

'Kosair's NICU is truly a place where little miracles are happening everyday.'
About: Baby So Soft campaign will help Kosair newborns

By Telissa Moore, Kosair Neonatal and Infant Care Unit (NICU) "graduate"

I would like to personally say, "Thank you," to Monica Rodgers-Shuffett and her family as well as Norma Scott and her family for this wonderful "Blanket" drive. It is such a "warm" and wonderful idea!

Kosair's NICU is truly a place where "little miracles" are happening everyday.

My son, Brent was there in late May into the first of June of 2009 for 9 days. As I watch him play and grow I find my mind often wonders about his NICU "buddies" and all the others that have been there before and after him.

I have to agree with Monica there are several babies there that you never see anyone with (except the nurses). So, I am sure they would appreciate a soft, warm blanket to snuggle with; as well as the babies who do have family with them.

On the behalf of all the NICU "graduates" and those still trying to "graduate," I encourage you who are talented enough to make a soft blanket for this wonderful blanket drive to please do so, and if you are like me and not talented enough to make one, then I encourage you to please go to the store and purchase one and then drop it off to Monica.

In advance, I would like to say, "thank you" to the community for all the support and donations to Monica, Norma and their families, but most of all for your support of the "little miracles" which will be felt each time babies are swaddled in their soft warm blankets. Thanks.
