Obituary: Elmer Brown, 81, Russell Co., KY

Mr. Brown was a farmer and a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church

Elmer Brown, 81, Mt. Eden RD, Russell Springs, KY, died Friday, February 12, 2010, at Campbellsville Retirement Home, Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral will be Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at 11amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Carroll Egnew and Rev. Tim Johnson the officiating clergy. Burial will be in the Russell County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Bernard Funeral Home.


Elmer Brown, Russell Co., KY (1928-2010)

Elmer Brown was the son of the late Josie Lee Brown and Luther Brown. He was born in Wayne Co., KY, on Sunday, September 12, 1928, and died Friday, February 12, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 81 years and 5 months.

Mr. Brown was a farmer and a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Johnson Brown on June 5, 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Viola "Bobbie" Brown, and the following:
  • Children: David (Brenda) Brown, Caneyville, KY; Larry "Gene" (Vicki) Brown, Carol (Mike Grider), and Billy (Roma) Andrew, all of Russell Springs, KY; and Margie (Jerry) Franklin, Bowling Green, KY

  • Five stepchildren: Herman, Jimmy, and Donnie Lawhorn, all of Dunnville, KY; Roger Lawhorn, Russell Springs, KY; and Olenda Caudill, Dunnville, KY

  • Two brothers: Tommy (Sharon) Brown, and Allen (Mary Beth) Brown, both of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three sisters: Margaret Andrew, Jamestown, KY; Dora Perkins, Greensburg, KY; and Ruby (Tommy) Wright, Campbellsville, KY
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hosparus of Central Kentucky. These can be made at the funeral home.

Bernard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
