Obituary: Della Tarter, 97, Adair Co. native

She was a member of a respected Western Adair Co., KY family

Della Tarter, 97, Argo, IL, died Tuesday, February 3, 2010, in Argo, IL.

The funeral service will be Saturday, February 6, 2010, at 12 noon CT, at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 Archer AV, Summit, IL, with burial in Bethania Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 5, 2010, from 2-9pmCT.


She was a native of Adair Co., KY, the daughter of the late J.W. and Alice Baker Sneed and the widow of Boss Tarter.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Tarter.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Ruth Loy, Bedford Park, IL

  • One grandson: Jerry Loy, Bedford Park, IL

  • Two sisters: Catherine Montgomery, Columbia, KY; and Argerine Kemp, Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Austin Sneed, Glasgow, KY

  • And several nieces and nephews
