Election 2010:
Joe Collins, Jr. for Adair County Regional Jailer

By Joe Collins, candidate for nomination for Adair County Regional Jailer,
in the May 18, 2009, Adair County Republican Primary.

To The Citizens of Adair County:

My name is Joe Collins, Jr. and I have chosen to run for the office of Adair County Jailer.

I have been a part of the Law Enforcement Community of Adair County for over 20 years. Fifteen years and ten months were spent serving you in the capacity of deputy jailer/911 dispatcher. The past 7 years I have served the citizens as one of your constables. During this same time I have worked for Westlake Regional Hospital and Adanta as a transfer officer, as well as, a part- time EMT for Adair County Ambulance Service.

I have served as County Chairman for the local Red Cross Chapter for two years and was a member of the Adair County Rescue Squad from 1989-2002. I am currently a member of the reorganized Search and Rescue and have been for the past two years. I was recently elected to the office of Deputy Chief. In 2005, Travis Coomer and I formed a partnership and then created a company called Coomer Oil, LLC., where I currently serve as co-owner and general manager.

I list all of these various jobs and volunteer organizations that I have had the opportunityto be a part of to allow you, the voter, to see the varied work experience and work ethic that I carry through my life. I feel that in order to help people you have to serve them and that is what I am asking to do, serve you as your next Adair County Jailer.

Through my various community and volunteer commitments, my years as an EMT, 911 dispatcher, and as deputy jailer, I have touched many of your lives and in turn, my life has been touched by you. I would like to see each of you personally to ask for your support and vote, but as this is not physically possible, I am asking for it now.

Family is very important to me, so I will tell you about the ladies in my life---I have been married to Norma Pierce Collins since 1972. We have one daughter Janet Huckaby (Rodney), and two granddaughters--Taylor Burton and Remington Huckaby.

At this point, I am not asking just for your vote, I am asking that you ask your friends and family vote for me as well.

Thank you for your support and I will continue to serve the citizens of Adair County, as I have for the past 20+ years.

Sincerely,
Joe Collins, Jr.
