Query: Where is Stephen White Cemetery? REUNIONS To ColumbiaMagazine.com: Not sure if anyone can help or not, but I am looking for someone who can identify where the Stephen White Cemetery is located. It was out KY 704, South of Columbia, when I visited several years back (1980's). It was in a cow pasture and some of the headstones were readable; I was able to obtain some information in Cemeteries of Adair County, Vol. V, and I got some more which was taken from the D.A.R. I am looking for someone in the area of where the cemetery could have been that might be able to identify where the graves were at or where they still might be. The property, back in the 1980s, was owned by Estel Ballou; but he has since passed away. I wasn't sure if anyone could help or who could direct me to someone who might be able to help. Thanks in advance. R.J. DooleyContact Roberta Dooley at home at (812) 969-3740 or at (812) 989-8909, cell. Thanks. Perhaps others can give you more information. The general area is the Tabor Community. The center of the community is Tabor Community Church, 1477 Fairplay RD, Columbia, KY. The Estel Ballou farm is located on the east side of the road, a few hundred yards south of the church. If anyone has additional information for Ms. Dooley, she can be contacted at the above numbers; or, if you have information of interest to ColumbiaMagazine.com, send it to us at Contact/Submit This story was posted on 2010-01-31 03:39:57
