Farmers urged to apply for cold weather animal loss payments Farm Service Agency News By Tony Corbin Farmers who had livestock to die due to the recent extreme cold weather conditions are reminded that they must report those losses within 30 calendar days to be eligible for payment under the Livestock Indemnity Program. Livestock deaths that occur in excess of normal mortality due to adverse weather conditions are eligible for payment. Producers are required to provide documentation to show proof of death.
