Election 2010: Todd Akin is candidate for Adair Co. Coroner Advertising Paid for By Todd Akin, Republican Candidate for Adair Co. Coroner in the May 18, 2010 Primary election Hello voters of Adair County. My name is Todd Akin and I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy on the Republican ticket for Adair County Coroner. Since January of 1998 I have been blessed to serve the people of Adair County in their time of need as one of the Deputy coroners to Rick Wilson. My experience and training in the Adair County Coroners office over the past 12 years proves my qualifications for this position. I am currently certified by the State Coroner's office in the following areas: Natural Death Investigations, Difficult Death Investigations, Vehicle Collision Forensics, Child Death Investigations, Forensics Anthropology, Mass Fatality Preparation, Office Administration, Case Interviews, Courtroom Demeanor, and Homeland Security. In April 2010 I will have my Advanced Coroners Degree. Not only am I a certified coroner already, but also a certified EMT and Paramedic in the state of Ky. I have worked in EMS for many years and feel that my experience and knowledge in the medical field is valuable to case investigations to determine the cause, manner of death and circumstances affecting the death of each individual. Over the years, I have developed a great working relationship with the medical community, local and state law enforcement, emergency management, the local funeral homes and most of all the citizens of Adair County that I have had the opportunity to work with during their time of grief. I have been married to Rhonda Coomer Akin for the past 17 years and we have two children Sierra and Devin. I place great value on serving God, my family and citizens in need. I am a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church and was ordained into the ministry in November 2009. If I am elected as Adair County Coroner I will continue to serve the people of Adair County with compassion and love in a competent manner. I look forward to meeting with everyone I possibly can. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (270) 250-1824. -Todd Akin This story was posted on 2010-01-15 04:36:03
