Your New Courthouse subject of talk at Columbia Woman's Club County Judge Ann Melton to speak to club on Jan. 26, 2010 By Vonnie Kolbenschlag The Columbia Woman's Club will meet Tuesday, January 26 at 6pmCT in the lower level of the Chamber of Commerce Building, 201 Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY, lower level. The program is Public Issues and the speaker will be County Judge Executive, Ann Melton, speaking on the topic, "Your New Courthouse." All women interested in becoming members are cordially invited to attend. The Adair County News on October 16, 1923 had the following news: "Mrs. W. H. Shanks of Stanford, Ky, Gov. of the Federation of Women's Clubs in the Eighth District, and Mrs. Cleaver of Lebanon, Gov. of the Fourth District, visited Columbia last Monday; their purpose being to organize a Woman's Federated Club of Columbia and Adair County.All ladies of the town and county who are interested in this work are requested to be present and become members of this club.
