Remembering Shirley Glasgow: Gratitude for a dear friend

About: A Eulogy of Glenn Shirley Glasgow by his son, Pat Glasgow

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

"Shirley came by yesterday." -JAMES WOODY.

With these words , my 90+ year old father, with a gleam in his eye, left unsaid -but understood - his gratitude for his dear friend, Shirley Glasgow.

For almost 60 years my father's and Shirley's lives were linked - neighbors, business partners, and friends.

I cannot recall my childhood without thinking (with fondness) of the Glasgows.

Shirley and Frances were always there for us as substitute chauffeurs and surrogate parents.

Shirley was there for my father until his death in 2007, sharing stories, jokes and that memorable chuckle.

I am so grateful for the life of Shirley Glasgow.

s/Laverne Woody Jankowski
