Election 2010: Tim Bradshaw for Adair County Regional Jailer By Tim Bradshaw, candidate for nomination for Adair County Regional Jailer, in the May 18, 2009, Adair County Republican Primary. I, Tim Bradshaw would like to announce that I am a candidate for Adair Co. Jailer. I am excited about the opportunity to have a chance to head our jail in the upcoming decade. KY jails face a unique challenge. KY's recidivism rate is now at 42%. The national average is 34%. KY's Program Review and Investigations Committee have proposed several propositions to deal with one of the nation's fastest growing jail and prison population. Some of the proposals have given me some reservations. My goal is to be there when then proposals are acted on and have input on what is best for Adair Co. Years ago the jail was costing taxpayers 300,000 dollars per year. That has been trimmed by 75%. I will continue to trim the budget with a goal of being self-sustaining. My career began with Columbia Police Dept. in 1982. In 1986 I moved to the Adair Co. Jail as a deputy. I have served under jailers Lawrence Burton, Dennis Loy and William "Bug" Knight. I retired from the Adair Co. Jail in 2007. I then began working at the Russell Co. Jail under jailer Darrell McQueary. I am also employed as an investigator for a national retail chain. I have 27 years experience in the field, my last 7 years in a supervisory position. I live in the Gadberry community of Adair Co. I am married to Rhonda Loy Bradshaw and we have 3 children Fancy, Amanda and Adam. We are members of the Columbia Baptist Church. I would like to ask everyone for your support in the May Primary. -Tim Bradshaw See also:
