SPOKANE, WA - The Spokane Shock, an Arena Football 1 team, announced Monday the addition of former Campbellsville University defensive back William Mulder to its 2010 roster. Spokane, the 2009 AF2 Champions, is one of 15 teams in the inaugural AF1 league.

Mulder, a 6-foot, 190-pound native of Versailles, Ky., set nearly every record for punt returns and interceptions from 2001-2003 at CU.

Upon graduation in 2004, he spent the last five seasons as a member of the now defunct Lexington Horsemen. From 2005-2007, he set 11 career records in the now defunct United Indoor Football league and helped lead the Horsemen to winning seasons in 2008 and 2009 in the AF2.

During his AF2 rookie season (2008), Mulder led Lexington with 57.5 tackles and added three interceptions with 19 pass break-ups. He was also used as a returner on special teams and added 1,895 all-purpose yards to his totals.

Last season, was a break-out year for him and was recognized by earning second-team all af2 honors. Mulder was third in the af2 in interceptions (11) and lead the Horseman with 24 pass break-ups. Additionally, Mulder was third on the team in tackles with 65.5. On special teams, he totaled 1,770 all-purpose yards, including 1,552 on kick-off returns.

"William Mulder has achieved success at every level of football he has been a part of - collegiately and professionally," Spokane Head Coach Rob Keefe said. "He has proved himself as a defensive back and as a kick returner and he is ready to take his game to the next level."

Mulder said he feels comfortable continuing his professional career in Spokane because of its winning reputation.

"The Shock have always been winners," Mulder said. "Every player wants to be around a group of guys that just want to win; and that's what I want. I just want to come in and compete and win another championship."

  • Day and Day Feed and Pet, 1011 Campbellsville RD, Columbia, KY

  • M & W Milling, 510 Short ST., Columbia, KY

  • Hardscratch Grocery, 7289 Hwy 55 South Road, Columbia, KY. In the Glensfork Community of Adair County. Phone (270) 384-4671

We will pick up the orders every few days and call the person when the sign is ready to be picked up. Signs are still $15 and are a hot item for Chistmas since they fit perfectly into a large stocking. They are about the best gift I can think of for the person that already has everything and is hard to shop for. If a person wants a sign by Christmas, they will have to get their order in by December 15, 2010. which is the last day of school before break. Orders placed after this date will not likely be filled until after the New Year. -Kirby Hancock, Advisor, Adair County FFA
