Obituary: Robert Owen Austin, 66, Casey Co., KY

He was a member of the Corinth Church of God. Mr. Austin owned and operated Austin's Garage and was an industrial mechanic at Phillips Lighting

Robert Owen Austin, 66, Kings Mountain, KY, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at his residence.

The funeral service will be at 2pmET/1pmCT, Sunday, November 22, 2009, at the Corinth First Church of God with Bro. Steven Willingham and Bro. Mike Cox officiating. Burial will be in K.P. Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9pmET, Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Bartle Funeral Home, 142 KY 149, Liberty, KY.



Pallbearers are Todd Meeks, troy Carrier, Phillip Shomemaker, Danny Elmore; Donald, Gary, and Kelvin Burgin, and Justis Roach.

Robert Owen Austin, Kings Mountain, KY (1943-2009)

Robert Owen Austin was born April 6, 1943, in Greenwood, IN, the son of Elmer "Pig" Austen, and Nanomi Napier Austin, both now deceased and died at Kings Mountain, KY, on November 19, 2009 at the age of 66 years, 7 months, and 13 days.

Mr. Austen was the owner and operator of Austin's Garage and was an industrial mechanic at Phillips Lighting.

He was a member of the Corinth Church of God.He is survived by his wife, Shirley Randolph Austin, and the following:
  • Two sons: Michael Wayne Austin, Somerset, KY, and Dustin David Austin,, Kings Mountain, KY

  • Three daughters: Robin Renae Meeks, Cookeville, TN; Rebecca Ann Carrier, Stanford, KY; and Melissa Kaye Shoemaker, Portlant TN

  • Eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren

  • One brother: Roy Arnold Austin, Greenwood, IN

  • One sister, Renita Gail Roach, Kings Mountain, KY
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to The American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
