Obituary: Oconal Tucker, 90, Adair Co., KY

Mr. Tucker was the head of a large, respected North Adair County family. His direct living descendants total 57. He was a member of Dunbar Hill Community Church and a farmer.

Oconal Tucker, formerly of Knifley, KY, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2009, in Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Darrell Tucker the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Robinson Chapel Cemetery at Knifley, KY. The family request visiting after 3:30pm on Tuesday, November 17, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Oconal Tucker, formerly of Knifley, KY (1919-2009)

Oconal Tucker, age 90 years, a resident of Summit Manor Health and RehabCenter in Columbia, KY formerly of the Knifley Community, passed awayMonday, November 16, 2009 at 9:15 A.M. at the Westlake Regional Hospitalin Columbia, KY.

He was the son of the late Leslie Ewing & Serenia (Goodin) Tucker of Adair County, KY.He was preceded in death by his wife, Gussie Emma Perkins Tucker on July 10, 1999, and by one son Herman Tucker in 2004 and two daughters, Joene Tucker in 2005 and Norma Jean Tucker many years ago, one brother, Donnie Tucker, and one sister, Donnie Burton.

Heis survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Treva Warren and Mae Sneed, both of Knifley, KY

  • Two sons: Sam Tucker of Knifley, KY, and Danny Tucker of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two brothers: L. J. Tucker of Knifley, KY, and Roscoe Tucker of Pellyton, KY

  • One sister: Geneva Fair of Greensburg, KY

  • And 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren
Mr. Tucker was a member of the Dunbar Hill Community Church and a retiredsawyer for several saw mills.
