LWC Men's Soccer breezes through MSC first round Blue Raiders top Pikeville 8-0. Senior Luis Campo scores 4 goals for Lindsey Wilson. Chris Ochieng has 2 and Moses Aduny 1. Other LWC score is own goal by by Pikeville College COLUMBIA, KY - Senior Luis Campo scored four goals on seven shots as the second ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's soccer team shutout Pikeville (KY) College 8-0 in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The Blue Raiders dominated the offensive possessions the entire game, leading Pikeville in shots 40-0. Seventeen of Lindsey Wilson's attempts were on goal. While Lindsey Wilson netted eight goals on the night, only three players scored. Besides Campo's four strikes, freshman forward Chris Ochieng added two and sophomore forward Moses Aduny scored one goal. Lindsey Wilson got its other score off an own goal by Pikeville in the 51st minute. It took a while for the scoring to start for the Blue Raiders as Pikeville enjoyed a scoreless game for the first 24 minutes. Campo struck for the first goal of the night in the 25th minute, opening a floodgate that saw the Blue Raider lead expand to 3-0 over the next 12 minutes. At halftime Lindsey Wilson led 4-0 and held a 23-0 advantage in shots. Just three fouls were called in the half with the Blue Raiders committing two and Pikeville being called for one. The own goal by Pikeville started the scoring in the second half, followed by Aduny's shot into the back of the net in the 55th minute. Campo closed out the contest with his final two goals in the 66th and 68th minutes. Lindsey Wilson advances to the semifinals of the MSC Tournament where they will face West Virginia Tech on November 12, 2009, in Lexington, KY. This story was posted on 2009-11-08 00:18:42
