I snapped the accompanying candid photo of Mrs. Eliza Perkins, who lives in the Whitewood Community of Green County, proudly displaying her Christmas Cactus, a previous gift from her brother, in its natural regalia of blooms on her 90th birthday! I know you should never tell a lady's age, but when you have been on the planet that many years, it does give one permission.

Mrs. Eliza Perkins of Whitewood celebrates 90th birthday

She is proudly displaying her Christmas Cactus, an earlier gift. As beautiful as she is, "She did not get gussied up for the picture," photographer Cindy Meyer said.
