Vote will be December 15, 2009 on tax for school buildings The vote on the tax which will enable the Adair County School District to leverage Adair County tax dollars to build several new buildings and renovate others, will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. The final certification of the tax recall petition was completed November 3, and the School Board and Petition filers were both notified on November 4, 2009. Adair County Court Clerk Sheila Blair said. The law states that the election can be no earlier than 35 days nor more than 45 days after the petition is certified," Clerk Blair said. "And it also states that the election must be on a Tuesday. Since December 15, 2009, is the only day fitting those requirements, that is when the election will be held."
